From MENA to Wall Street: The Arab Identity and Pathways into Finance

ABANA and the ABANA Foundation are delighted to partner with the Columbia Arab Alumni Association (CAAA), Turath (Columbia Undergrad Arab Student Association), and Columbia Business School MENA Club, in providing this special event for Arab/MENA students and young professionals interested/working in finance.

This is a great opportunity to learn from industry leaders and build connections with fellow students/young professionals, which should not be missed!

The opening hour will feature a panel discussion introducing the various sides of and pathways into finance, with a special focus on the intersection of a US finance career with the Arab identity through themes of relationships, authenticity, and international work. Following will be a networking reception with food.

Moderator – Khalid Azim: President of ABANA and Columbia University Professor of Professional Studies.
Speakers –
Ola El-Shawarby: Deputy Portfolio Manager for the Emerging Markets Equity Strategy at VanEck, and previous ABANA Board Member.
Salah Zalatimo: Technology leader, Managing Partner at Ooblek Partners, and Columbia Business School Alumnus.
