Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld
Stephen M. Vine heads Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld's corporate and securities practice group of the New York office, and he was one of the founding partners of the office in April 1993. He also serves on the firmwide management committee.
Mr. Vine focuses on securities law, with an emphasis on foreign and domestic investment funds and investment management. He has supervised the formation and offering of investment funds that have raised more than $6 billion of equity. These funds have involved a variety of investment disciplines including emerging markets, domestic and foreign real estate, strategic and direct investment, convertible arbitrage, financial services and country funds. In addition to the creation of investment funds, Mr. Vine's practice includes advice on the execution of investment transactions, as well as on the formation and operation of investment management firms and related service companies, including broker-dealers.
Prior to joining Akin Gump, Mr. Vine was a partner at Coudert Brothers. He earned his A.B. magna cum laude in 1974 and his J.D. cum laude in 1977 from Harvard University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He is a member of the New York Bar.
