Global Infrastructure Partners
New York-based Salim Samaha is a Principal of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a $5.6 billion dollar private equity fund that invests in energy, transportation, water and waste assets globally. Prior to joining GIP, Mr. Samaha was a Vice President in the Global Energy Group of Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC (CS) in New York.
Mr. Samaha has participated in over $41 billion of announced transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, high yield debt financings, leveraged loan financings and equity financings. He has worked on transactions in the power generation, electric and gas transmission and distribution, energy trading, midstream and liquefied natural gas industries.
Selected representative transactions include: GIP’s $500 million acquisition of Channelview Cogeneration (where Mr. Samaha is a member of the Board of Managers) from Reliant Energy; Dynegy’s $4.1 billion acquisition of LS Power’s power generation assets and associated formation of a power generation development joint venture; Sale of Dynegy Midstream Services to Targa Resources / Warburg Pincus for $2.475 billion; and Sale of TXU Australia to Singapore Power for A$5.7 billion, CFO’s Asian 2004 M&A Deal of the Year.
Mr. Samaha holds a B.Com in Finance and Accounting from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
