Laura Osman is a Senior Managing Director of Concord International Investments Group, LP. She is also the portfolio manager of the Concord Group’s international Egyptian public equity funds and is a member of its various Investment Committees. She manages Egypt’s first closed-ended offshore fund, the Egypt Investment Company Limited, Egypt’s first open-ended country fund, the Egyptian Growth Investment Company Limited, Egypt’s only European Undertaking for Collective Investments (UCITS) fund, the Concord Egypt Fund as well as the Concord Egyptian Growth Fund for Humint which was developed exclusively for Japanese investors. Ms. Osman also manages Concord’s first fund invested in Turkish securities, Concord Tulip Investments Limited.
The funds managed by Ms. Osman are listed in London, the Channel Islands and Dublin. The Concord Egypt Fund Euro shares, Egyptian Growth Investment Company Limited and Nile Growth Company were all rated five stars by Morningstar over varying periods. In addition, the Egypt Investment Company was ranked as the top performing fund in the world over a 12 month period out of a universe of over 7,000 funds by Standard & Poors (as published in the International Herald Tribune) several times since October 2004.
Ms. Osman joined the Concord Group in 1996, having spent the prior 6+ years in the Asset Management Division of Prudential Securities in New York where she founded and headed Prudential’s Portfolio Analytics Group.
Ms. Osman is a member of the Economic Club of New York and sits on several professional boards. Ms. Osman is the former President of the Board of the Arab Bankers Association of North America, a founding Board member and former President of the ABANA Foundation and a former member of the Board of Governors of the Middle East Institute in Washington, D.C. She also sat on the board of the United States Egypt Friendship Society (USEF).
Ms. Osman received a BBA in Marketing in 1989 and an MBA in International Finance in 1994 both with honours, from Baruch College, City University of New York.
