Issa N. Baconi, joined Arab Bank as Executive Vice President & Manager of its New York Agency in October of 2005. Prior to that he was Executive Vice President & Manager of Gulf International Bank New York since 1988. Mr. Baconi, began his career at the Beirut office of the First National Bank of Chicago. During his fourteen year association with the bank, he worked in Beirut, Abu Dhabi, Sydney and New York.
Mr. Baconi is a current member of IIB's Board of Trustees and Executive Committee. He served as Chairman of the International Advisory Council of the Bankers Association of Finance & Trade (an affiliate of the American Bankers Association) from 2001 to 2004. He also held the position of President of the Arab Bankers Association of North
America from 1990 to 1992.
Mr. Baconi, earned his BA/BBA degrees from Haigazian University Beirut and attended Graduate school at the American University of Beirut. Furthermore, Issa attended the Advance Management program at Oxford University.
