Managing Director, Middle East
Mr. Massand has over twenty years of experience in the MENA and South Asia regions and currently oversees the operations of SAS Asset Recovery in the Middle East. He and his team are responsible for the origination, diligence, and management of litigation funding, asset recovery, and dispute resolution opportunities in the GCC for Sovereign Funds, Banks, and Ultra High Net Worth Individuals. Prior to joining SAS, Mr. Massand, served as Co-Chair of the Emerging Markets Practice for Mclaughlin & Stern, LLP, a New York based law firm. There, he was involved in structuring transactions between the United States, the Middle East, and the Indian Subcontinent for Hedge Funds and other Institutional Investors. From 2000 to 2009 Mr. Massand served as Counsel and was a member of the Board of Directors of DCD Capital, a trade finance and real estate investment firm with offices in South Africa, Mumbai, Dubai, London and New York and was involved in the creation of two Sharia compliant Real Estate Funds and a Sharia compliant trade finance facility for the Group. In a personal capacity, he remains an active participant in the retail banking, infrastructure services, and new media industries in the US, the GCC, and the Indian subcontinent. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Boston University, and a J.D. from New York Law School. Mr. Massand currently resides in Dubai with his wife and two children.
