James Glassman, Senior Economist & Director of U.S. Economic & Policy Issues Research, JP Morgan Chase, is a senior economist and director with JP Morgan Investment Bank. He is the Director of U.S. Economic & Policy Issues Research, which provides analysis of the U.S. economic outlook, monetary and fiscal policy developments, and financial market prospects for the capital markets activities and corporate relationships of the company.

Mr. Glassman joined Chemical Bank in March 1993. Chemical Bank subsequently merged with Chase Manhattan Bank and, most recently, with JP Morgan. Between 1988 and 1993, he was an economist in the Global Research group at JP Morgan. From 1979 through 1988, he served as a senior economist at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington DC, where his responsibilities included analysis of inflation, labor market developments, money and capital markets issues, and the Federal Reserve's monetary policy operating procedures.

Mr. Glassman earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Illinois, in Champaign/Urbana, Illinois in 1970 and a Ph.D. in economics from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois in 1979.
