Ibrahim Gharghour

Managing Partner, Co-CEO, CIO
Pulse Capital Partners

Ibrahim Gharghour serves as Managing Partner, Co-CEO, and Chief Investment Officer of Pulse Capital Partners. Before founding Pulse, Ibrahim spent 16 years at Investcorp. He began his tenure at Investcorp in 1993 as Treasurer, and in 1996 he co-founded the hedge fund business, subsequently serving as co-CEO and co-CIO of the entire division until 2009. He built Investcorp’s hedge fund business by transitioning the firm’s internal trading platform into an externally-managed and diversified hedge funds investment pool. In 1997, Ibrahim launched Investcorp’s fund-of-funds business with multiple products including core funds, thematic funds, and customized portfolios, attracting institutional clients in the Arabian Gulf, Europe, the United States, and elsewhere. He complemented the product offering by launching a single manager seeding platform in 2005 with a differentiated value proposition that included seeding highly experienced “emerging” hedge fund managers and providing them global marketing as well as risk/operational oversight. In this capacity, Ibrahim seeded eight managers across varying strategies between 2005 and 2008. At peak, total AUM for Investcorp’s hedge fund business reached $9 billion, the majority of which was managed through a proprietary in-house managed account platform. Prior to his tenure at Investcorp, Ibrahim held a number of senior positions for JP Morgan Chase (Chemical Bank) from 1982-1993, culminating in him running the bank's businesses in the Arabian Gulf. Ibrahim began his career at Irving Trust in New York, where he held several roles from 1978-1982. He holds a B.A. in economics from Bates College and earned an MBA, with honors, from New York University.
