Gerardo Rodriguez

Gerardo Rodriguez, Managing Director, is a Portfolio Manager for the Emerging Markets (EM) group. His responsibilities include the management of multi-asset portfolios, the development of EM products and the oversight of the EM Platform at BlackRock.

Mr. Rodriguez joined BlackRock in 2013 after a fruitful career of more than 14 years in the Mexican Ministry of Finance where he last served as Undersecretary of Finance and Public Credit. He has extensive experience in macroeconomic policy, financial market development and infrastructure financing/development. As Undersecretary, he oversaw the development of the local financial system and international affairs of the Ministry of Finance. His responsibilities included the regulation and supervision of local financial institutions, public debt management and exchange rate and fiscal policy. He was also responsible of the G20 process and the relationship of Mexico with the IMF, World Bank and other multilateral institutions. During his tenure at the Ministry of Finance he was also the Head of Public Debt Management from 2005 to 2011, where his main responsibilities included the extension of the local yield curve, the design of the cetesdirecto platform and the creation of the National Infrastructure Fund.

Mr. Rodriguez earned a BS degree in economics from Universidad de las Americas-Puebla (Mexico) and an MSc in Engineering-Economic Systems and Operations Research from Stanford University.
