Faten Sabry is a Senior Vice President and Partner in the Securities and Finance Practice at NERA Economic Consulting in New York, where she has worked since 1998. She provides economic consulting and expert testimony in securities, bankruptcy and complex damages, and leads the practice’s subprime taskforce.

At NERA, Faten has performed analyses involving issues of class certification, materiality, and damage calculations in litigation ranging from contract disputes to valuing a portfolio of mortgages. She is the lead author of an econometric study on the impact of securitization before and after the credit crisis for the American Securitization Forum. She has assessed risk management models and examined the prudence of investments including hedging strategies. She has testified and filed reports as an expert in State and Federal Courts, as well as FINRA arbitrations.

Prior to joining NERA, Faten was an assistant professor of Economics at the American University in Cairo, where she taught graduate and undergraduate courses in economic development and project valuation. She was also a post doctoral fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute and an economist at the Egyptian Information and decision Support Center in Egypt, where she provided policy analysis and research on various issues including price controls and subsidies.

Faten received her Ph.D. from Stanford Business School, where she was awarded the J.M. Olin Graduate Fellowship, the Graduate School of Business Fellowship, and a Ford Foundation Fellowship. She received her BA, magna cum laude, and her MA in economics from the American University in Cairo, where she was awarded merit scholarships and the President's Cup.

Faten was born and raised in Egypt, is married and has two children.
